This page will explain how the insured or a beneficiary can make a claim on a Lion Life policy.

Submit your claim fast and easy in any of these ways

  3. Fax your claims
    to 086 614 2605 (please ensure that the fax details are clear by first making a photocopy and then faxing it through)

Your Documents

The documents you will be required to submit could include:

  1. A completed claim form
  2. A certified copy of the death certificate of the deceased
  3. BI1663 forms
  4. A certified copy of the deceased’s and the beneficiaries’ ID books/cards
  5. Stamped copy of Claimants bank statement

Your consultant may ask you to provide Lion Life with additional documents to assess the claim properly.

Assessment Findings

All claims will be processed efficiently and quickly.
Funeral cover claims will be paid out in 48 hours if all the correct documentation is submitted.
Life insurance pay-outs may take longer, depending on the nature of the claim, but we will attempt to process the funeral benefit within 48 hours.
